Automatic spot welding equipment is primarily used for welding the steel without the help of a welder, such as aluminum or copper. The equipment may be called a portable weld station and is usually operated by a push button or remote control. There are two kinds of Automatic Spot Welding machines, the rotary screw and the hook and loop welding machine. The rotary screw machine is the oldest of the two, but it is also the most susceptible to operator error.
The hook and loop welding machine are the easiest to use, and so many companies prefer it for automatic spot welding equipment. It consists basically of a table with the welding equipment on a stand that contains the welder, shielding and a control unit. The weld is fed through a welding wire guide, and the weld is held in place using pressure from the welder. Because this is an automatic welding process, there is not much room for human error – a simple mistake can easily cost you a whole arc or half of your production. It takes practice and experience to become proficient at using the welder, however.
Some of the benefits of using automatic welding equipment is that it is much more reliable than older models which are prone to loose connections, poor welds, etc. The other benefit is that there is no need to worry about buying electrodes, because they are all pre-made. All you need is to connect the electrodes in the proper way, and that’s it.
The first thing to understand about an automatic welding machine is that it uses a tig pin, or TIG tip, to create the arc. When an arc is created, the torch that is attached to the welding rod is pushed up against the weld puddle. Because the torch is pushed up into the weld puddle, it creates a stronger weld than if the torch were positioned lower in the arc. Because of this, the welder doesn’t have to slow down when pulling the arc because the torch is constantly moving up and down creating a stronger weld. This is important to remember when using an arc that you want the weld to be strong.
Depending on the type of welder you are using, there will either be a separate torch or a welding gun. If you have a gas torch, you will attach the torch holder to the work area with a hose, and then you will use the welding gun to continuously fire the torch up until you have a fully charged weld. On the other hand, with a cordless welding gun, you won’t have a cord that you need to attach to anything, and it will automatically fire the arc when you push down on the gun. Because of this, it makes it much easier to move around the work area, and not have to worry about attaching or detaching the torch from its holder. The gun also has a trigger that can be used to control the amount of heat that is generated, which is important if you are working in a very hot area.
One of the main benefits of automatic welding equipment is the fact that they are usually very affordable, especially if you already have a business that you run on a full time basis. Because they don’t require you to be on site to use them, they can save you a lot of money on fuel expenses. Another benefit is that they can help to provide safety on the job site for your employees. Because the welders are equipped with the proper protective gear, they can ensure that your employees are protected, even under the worst circumstances. When you are considering automatic welding equipment, make sure that you look into the different options that are available so that you can find the one that is perfect for your business needs.
